Melt and Create - Jewellery Workshop
At Richard James Jeweller its all about the experience and we love our clients to be part of the story.
We offer an opportunity to make your own wedding rings in our workshop. Why not create an extra special and memorable experience that becomes part of your love story.
We do not require you to have any experience as you will have exclusive use of our workshop with one on one instruction and guidance by one of our experienced Jewellers.
The first step is a design consultation where we discuss the process and the options available with regard to the materials you wish to use. We then book your workshop session. This consultation can happen in our boutique or on video call.
Your workshop session will take 4 hours for couples and 3 hours for individuals.

Terms and Conditions
This promotion runs from February 1st to February 28th, 2025. To be entered into the draw, you must proceed with a custom engagement ring order with a minimum value of $1500. This promotion is also available for any purchases made from our boutique engagement ring collection during the month of February. The approximate timeframe for completion of the custom engagement ring is 4-6 weeks once we receive confirma tion to proceed with the design. The melt and create session will be subject to availability and dependent on the wedding date. The melt and create session is applicable only for plain wedding bands. Any designs involving stone settings or intricate work will require a separate quote, and the jeweller will complete these after the melt and create session due to the complexity involved. This promotion cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts. The winner of this promotion will be drawn on March 1st, 2025. The winner will be privately contacted to maintain anonymity.
Couples Melt and Create
The process starts from the very beginning where the Jeweller will guide you through melting your own gold, rolling your gold into shape and then bending, annealing, soldering, filing, sanding and polishing into the finished piece.
Duration: 4 hours
Price: $900

The Cost of Materials is additional and is confirmed at the time of consultation.
Standard materials option starts from $2250.00 and includes:
- ladies 2.5-3mm band, flat or half round
- mens 5-6mm band, flat or half round
- 9ct Yellow Gold
Should you wish to make your rings in Rose or White Gold or choose a heavier weight e.g 18ct we can quote for this at the time of consultation
Melt and Create for One
This experience is designed for one person, you may like to create a ring as a gift for a special occasion or for yourself.
Duration: 3 hours
Price: $700
The duration is for 3 hours where the Jeweller will guide you through melting your own gold, rolling your gold into shape and then bending, annealing, soldering, filing, sanding and polishing into the finished piece and has all the same inclusions as the Couples Experience except you will receive a single ring box rather than a double.
plus Materials
Materials are also additional as above and start from $750 for one person.
Optional Extras
Engraving - following the completion of your rings, we can engrave a personal message,name or date. This will require you to leave your rings with us and collect once done.
More advanced additions by our Jewellers to the style or design can be quoted for at the time of consultation e.g stone setting.
